Stink bugs generally have broad, shield-shaped bodies and a triangular plate on the upper back. Color alone isn’t enough for identification because Louisiana has brown, green, southern green, and redbanded stink bug species. Species Found in Louisiana
The redbanded stink bug is the most economically significant stink bug species in Louisiana, particularly because of its effects on agriculture. Brown marmorated stink bugs have also been documented in the state, including reports in New Orleans and elsewhere in Southeast Louisiana.
